Tyrone, GA is a residential community in Fayette County, GA and approximately 25 miles south of Atlanta. The Creek Indians first settled in the area and followed later by Irish farmers. Tyrone was incorporated on August 18, 1911. The area reminded the Scotch and Irish immigrants of County Tyrone in Ireland.
