It also provides  commuter bus service, reasonably priced, to downtown Atlanta.  Coweta is pronounced "Cow-eeta" or "Ky-eeta". Coweta came from the name of the Coweta Creek Indians. When William McIntosh, Jr. (half-Scott, half Creek) became chief, he deeded the lands to the Federal government.  Newnan, the county seat, was named for General Daniel Newnan. He fought in the Indian Wars, the War of 1812, and served in the Georgia General Assembly.
